A great alternative to using safety pins for basting, no more sore fingers.  Push a "pin buddy" onto the end of your very own straight pins.  Using a "pin buddy" to cap the end of your straight pins will save time, they stay in place for as long as you require them to.

Two colours to choose from,  the white colour is suitable for dark fabric where the brown colour is for light colour fabric.
